Of Creaconn His birthdate is a guesstimate by C.M.Richards Adapted from notes made by Ann Belanger: From his mother, John inherited the Rosburon estate. John died in 1817 and his wife in 1818 leaving no male heir of age. William (which William?) therefore inherited the property and sent the minor children to the colonies and America. There is a note in the "old" family tree that John went to America. That presumably is how he met his wife - Susan Tree - who is referred to as either having come from Boston or Newfoundland. See note under Francis Tree for the explanation In "A History of Wexford" it says that trade between Wexford and Newfoundland was controlled by a small number of Protestant families including the Glascotts. It's interesting that John is referred to in all of the christening records as John Glascott Esq of Pilltown until the 1802 christening of his son John when he is referred to simply as John Glascott Esq. Then in 1805, at William's christening, he is referred to as John Glascott Esq of Campile. What does this mean, does it represent a change of circumstances?
