Margaret Wooler was baptized on 11 July 1792 at Dewsbury.2 She was headmistress of Roe Head School in Mirfield, attended by Charlotte Bronte, and where Charlotte made friends with Mary Taylor and Ellen Nussey. Margaret Wooler appeared as an annuitant on the census of 30 March 1851 visiting her brother-in-law Rev Edward Nicholl Carter at the Parsonage, Heckmondwike.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as aged 78 the sister-in-law of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter at Strawberrie Square, Heckmondwike. In 1881 aged 88 Living at Low Lane, Gomersal as a Gentlewoman, born Batley with sisters Katherine H aged 84 and Eliza aged 72. All unmarried. Also Marian M Allbut unm 40 neice "Lady Help (Voluntary)" and Eliza Hunter unm aged 27 born Belfast - General Servant
