The Last Will and Testament of Michal Alcock Esquire Captain in the Right Honourable the Earl of Effingham Regiment in the Garrison of Gibraltar. First I do hereby constitute and appoint Captain Henry Brownrigg and Mary Brownrigg his wife to be executor and executrix of this my last Will and Testament and do give them or either of them full power to demand (and by law to sue if occasion should require) for any and all Estates Money Goods or Effects whatsoever which is of present or that may become mine or that I may be entitled to after the date hereof either by Will Deed of Gift or otherways and its my will that they or either of them do receive all and every of the before mentioned particulars for the sole use and benefit of my son Hugh Robt Alcock in such manner as hereafter directed as the Danger of Sea makes it precarious if either their Mother or my Self may lives to see our Children any more. If any accident should happen to us we are fully assured that our Beloved Son and Daughter Henry and Mary Brownrigg will take all possible care of our Dear Son Hugh Robt. Its therefore my will that all Money Estate Goods or Effects received by my aforesaid Executor and Executrix for the use of my Son Hugh Robt. shall be by them Improved applyed and disposed of as they or either of them my aforesaid Executor and Executrix think proper until he arrives at the age of eighteen years. But in case of his decease before he is of age, I then give unto my Daughter Mary Brownrigg and her Heirs all my estate Money Goods and Effects whatso ever Except her Mother my Loving Wife Martha Alcock should survive me and live to return to England. If it should so happen its then my will that all Estates Money Goods and Effects of what nature or kind soever that may be received by virture of this my last Will and Testament by my aforesaid Executor and Executrix shall be for the sole use and benefit of her Mother by her to be applied and disposed of as she may think proper either for the use of my Son Hugh Robt. or other ways. I do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth Day of October in the year One thousand seven hundred fifty six in the Garrison of Gibraltar. Mich. Alcock signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator to be his last Will and Testatment in the presence of us whose names are hereunto Inscribed as Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator. Whereas I Michael Alcock Esquire have made my Last Will and Testament bearing date the twelfth Day of October 1756 and have constituted and appointed Capt Henry Brownrigg and Mary Brownrigg his wife Executor and Executrix thereof Now I do by this Codicil revoke the constitution and appointment of the said Capt Henry Brownrigg and Mary Brownrigg his wife as Executor and Executrix of my said Will and all of the Trusts reposed in them and hereby constitute and appoint my Trusty Friend Elizabeth Hancock Widow Sole Executrix of my Will and this Codicil. In Witness whereof I have this my Codicil which I would have taken as part of my will set my hand and seal this Sixteenth Day of June 1758 at Westm. Mich. Alcock _ signed sealed published and declared by the said Michael Alcock as and for a Codicil to his Will in the presence of us Daniel Sewelin _ John Dyer _ Alice Dyer her mark. --.
This Will was proved at London with a Codicil the twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred fifty eight before the Worshipfull Authur Collier, Doctor of Law and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Huight also Doctor of Law Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Cantebury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Elizabeth Hancock: widow the sole Executrix named in the said Codicil to whom administration was granted of all and signular the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn Duly to administer.
