Peter David Whitaker records that In the Yorkshire Fines Rolls Thomas Whittikers and Margaret his wife hold lands at Chyckynley in 1578. By 1595 there is an action recorded against Thomas Whittacres and Agnes his wife and Alvered Whittacres his on and heir apparent. They are repeatedly mentiuoned in connection with lands and a cottage at Chickinley. The account that includes this information was sent to me by Bob Whitaker in March 2006.
