Entered TCD 1733 aged 16. Born Co Kilkenny. Scholar 1737. BA 1738 DD 1772. Career according to Leslie, Clergy of Armagh 1765-1771 Treasurer of Leighlin About 1760-1786 Rector of Killianne 1767-1771 R of Clonkeen 1771-75 Prec. Armagh & R. Killeavy 1775-77 Preb. Tynan He purchased the Woodbrook Estate, near Enniscorthy in 1752 (from Solomon Richards - see below) 1756 Built the church of Killianne Archdeacon of Armagh 12 Sept 1777. Will of Ven Arthur Jacob of Woodbrook made 23 Dec 1785, proved 21 March 1786. His wife was to have his lands in Co. Wexford for life, and to revert on his death to dau Susanna (only child), wife of William Blacker. He was an executor to the will of Solomon Richards (1783) Under a Deed of release dated 26 May 1752 he rented land in the Barony of Bantry from Solomon Richards for Three Hundred and Four pound a year. In the deed he is described as of Ballynakill in the Queens County. This was his mother's home. He and Solomon Richards were second cousins.
