attainted by James II for being a protestant 1689 Will proved 26 November 1760 Year of birth is a guesstimate Will of Henry Gifford From Ferns Wills Admons M L Book 1751-1761 in Vol 12 of "Irish Wills and Pleadings" Will of Henry Gifford of New Ross, Co Wexford 1760 In the name of God Amen. I Henry Gifford of New Ross County Wexford etc do make this my last will etc I bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Gifford all my real and personal Estate she paying all my debts and funeral expenses for her life. After her death I will all my real and personal fortune should be sold in six months by my executors for payment of all legacies, & renew lives - I leave to my son John Gifford £20 to be paid to him. To my grandson John Gifford and his brother Henry £20 equally divided if alive or all to the survivor I leave to my son Revd Napper Gifford £20 to be paid him with £10 he gave me - to my grand daughter £5 I leave my daughter Ann Hewetson £30 and £5 to my grand daughter Ann Hewetson, and to my grandson Christopher Hewetson £5 for mourning. I leave to my daughter Jan Bridwell £20 if living when due - if not equally to my sons John and Napper I leave to my daughter Catran Champin of Wexford £20 if living when due or else to my grandsons Samuel Silvester, Harry Silvester and his sister Mary Silvester or the survivors I leave to my grand daughter Molly Silvester Samuel Silvester and Harry Silvester his brother £10 equally to the survivors I leave to my son John the bond for £100 against Richard Elems and his brother Wm Elems which is in Dublin I leave to my daughter Elin Young £10 if she demands it , if not to my dau Catran or her children etc I order my wife Elizabeth Gifford if she pays the Revd Mr Hewetson what money due him expended in a law suit he undertook between Mr Henry Napper & my family. I appoint my nephew Mr George Glascott, my nephew Thos Gifford and my son John Gifford Exors. Dated 23 Aug 1742 Witnesses Richard Butler, Denis Kavanagh, John Egan, Henry Gifford Proved by Ann Hewetson als Richards wife of Goddard Richards one of the legatees, Thos Gifford the surviving Exor having renounced 26 Nov 1760..
