Memorial Inscription transcribed by Brian Cantwell: Here are interred the mortal remains of Loftus Cliffe Esq who was severely wounded in the battle of Minden 1759 then Captain of his Majesty's 37 Regt of Foot. He was promoted in 1762 to be a Major Commandant in the 74th Invalids and died 8th Sept 1765 at Coolcliffe near Taghmon and also the remains of his widow Anne Cliffe who died at Wexford on the 23rd March 1814 in the 83rd year of her age.
