Marriage Licence dated 31 Dec 1683 says he was of St Martin in the Fields and she was a spinster of the same about 21 years. Consent of mother - father dead. Marriage at St Sepulchre or St Bennett's Paul's Wharf, London. Was very involved with the South Sea Bubble 1684 Steward to the Duke of Norfolk Memorial Inscription Here lieth the body of James Craggs late of London Esq one of His Majesty's Postmasters General. He was the son of Mr Anthony Craggs of Holbeck in the Parish of Walsingham in the County Palatinate of Durham Gent and died 16 March 1722. He had issue one son and three daughters. Viz The Rt Hon James Craggs Esq, who died one month before his said father and three daughters who survived him. Anne who married Mr Newsham of Chadshunt in the Coy of Warwickshire Esq and Elizabeth who married Edward Eliot of Port Eliot in Coy Cornwall Esq and Margaret who married Samuel Trefusis of Trefusis in the said Coy of Cornwall Esq, which three daughters in duty erected this monument to the pious memory of the best of fathers..
